This season, Samurai brings us their latest version of classic 511 slim-fit denim in their specially developed 19oz "Kiwami" denim! "Kiwami" means the "pinnacle" or "the ultimate" in Japanese and reflects the brand's meticulous approach to quality and striving for perfection in their garments!
This 19oz "Kiwami" slevage denim fabric has been slowly woven on vintage machines to produce a slubby three-dimensional texture! The Texas cotton threads have been grand indigo yarn-dyed. With wear and washing, you can expect to see some beautiful high-contrast fading with plenty of light and dark indigo tones!
Speaking of details, this garment takes inspiration from Japanese culture and history. The iron buttons feature an engraved "Iron Sunrise" design while the rivets have been engraved with "Sho gyo mu jo" Japanese for "All things must pass". The heavyweight cotton pocket bags have been slowly woven on vintage jacquard machines to produce a three-dimensional design, which will become even more apparent with indigo transfer from the denim. Lastly, this pair features silver selvedge I.D. which represents the sharp glinting edge of the samurai's katana sword!
